Cultivating Resilience

The study of resilience, the ability to recover, grow and thrive when coping with challenge or adversity, is a core concept in Positive Psychology. Resilience is universally regarded as an important quality for professionals and is imperative for those working in demanding and high-stress domains. Resilience is teachable, with a focus on concrete skills and practices. This class will introduce participants to principles, tools and exercises to enhance and cultivate resilience.

Facilitator: Sarah Schneider Hong, LMSW

Sarah Schneider Hong, LMSW is a seasoned behavioral health educator, psychotherapist, and licensed clinical social worker. Sarah completed her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Duke University and prior to earning her masters in social work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her career has been devoted to understanding and enhancing well-being with evidence-based conventional and complementary principles and practices. Sarah has designed and delivered wellness programming nationally for a wide range of participants at organizations including but not limited to, the United States Army and Department of Defense, the University of Michigan Health System, the University of California San Francisco, Kaiser Permanente, Bank of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County Community Mental Health, Jiffy Mixes, Menlo Innovations, Dykema and more.
