Emotional Intelligence (EQ) for Physicians

We work in a hectic field where we, as physicians, may feel challenged to be in control of our own time and life.  We may feel overwhelmed, with too much to do and seemingly too little time to get to non-work things that really matter, like taking care of ourselves and the people we love.

We are offering this workshop to help MDs increase their emotional intelligence and more effectively balance work and life. This scientifically resourced class has helped many doctors make thoughtful decisions about their career and lifestyle.

Specific Objectives:

  1. Learn at least 1 skill to increase awareness and flexibility in responses to emotional triggers
  2. Select at least 2 strategies to help you experience better self-care over the next 4-6 weeks
  3. Practice at least 3 methods for improving communication with individuals & teams

Join us for this highly interactive 2.5-hour workshop!  We will explore the 4 components of emotional intelligence and practice specific strategies to increase EQ (emotional intelligence.)  You will leave with a toolbox of skills and techniques to increase your self-awareness, self-management, and relationships.

Participants will complete an online EQ assessment prior to the workshop (15-20 min. needed to complete).  The workshop will be tailored to the specific needs of the participants.

Facilitated by:  Rob Pasick, PhD and David Fessell, MD
