Successful Negotiation Skills and Strategies
Medical school faculty negotiate constantly, not just over issues like salary, but also for lab space, authorship on research papers, and resources. This day-long negotiation workshop will equip you with a framework and set of tools designed to help faculty prepare for, and conduct effective negotiations. The workshop is interactive and participants will learn by practicing first on generic negotiation cases, and then on real issues that faculty must negotiate every day. The tools and processes taught are based on cutting edge theory and practice developed at the Harvard Negotiation Project, a think tank at Harvard Law School which specializes in helping groups and individuals learn to deal constructively with their differences.
The workshop will be facilitated by Irma and Katherine Tyler-Wood of Ki ThoughtBridge, a consulting firm that specializes in leadership development, negotiation, change management and conflict resolution.
