About Us

The U-M Medical School is committed to career development of its faculty, and offers a development program that will help faculty to better navigate the changing health care and research landscape.

The Office of Faculty Development has developed a comprehensive, competency-based curriculum to meet the challenges associated with research, teaching and managing in the academic health care environment. Development opportunities include courses with specific learning objectives, mentoring education and support, and on-site, customizable programs.

Skill-building workshops have been developed to help faculty:

  • Enhance teaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Improve research productivity.
  • Manage conflict.
  • Manage and lead in the laboratory or clinical settings.

This dynamic program is designed to enhance the experience and/or expertise of our faculty and to support their career progression.
